Our Story

Brew Biscuits was born from a love for dogs and a passion for craft brewing. While homebrewing a batch of beer with friends, our founder Chris, noticed the potential in a pot of steaming spent grains, a byproduct of the brewing process, and decided to turn them into delicious, healthy treats for his dog Wilson. The beloved chocolate lab Wilson, went crazy for the first batch of spent grain biscuits which meant spent grain biscuits were now a staple in the house. Chris’s friend was/is an avid home brewer, so there was no shortage of spent grains, so in turn there was never a shortage of spent grain biscuits. Chris had so many spent grain biscuits, he started to give out bags of them to the dog owners he had befriended from many walks with Wilson. The biscuits were so well received, the idea of starting a business began to brew (pun intended). Thanks to another friend, a meeting was arranged with a Brewery owner to partner together and the idea was met with a resounding Yes! Brew Biscuits was born and Wilson became the logo, our Chief Tasting Officer, and the business launched in May of 2021.
 
Wilson remained CTO until his passing in September of 2022, but will forever be remembered because his beautiful face is on every single bag of Brew Biscuits and his memory is making happy dogs one biscuit at a time. Over three years since launching, Brew Biscuits partners with over 20 Breweries and Distilleries, has upcycled over 2 tons of spent grains, and made countless dogs happy!!
 
Our mission is to provide high-quality, sustainable dog biscuits that both pets and their owners can feel good about. Based in Holden, MA, we are committed to crafting each biscuit by hand, ensuring the best for your furry friends. We now have Henry (Chief Barketing Officer) and Tedy Brewski (Chief Facilities Manager) to carry Wilson’s legacy, helping us fulfill our Mission: “Making Happy Dogs!”

Our Journey

From humble beginnings to a beloved brand, here’s how Brew Biscuits came to be.

2015

Got Wilson some spent grain treats while at Rapscallion Brewing, Wilson enjoyed them, unbeknownst to Chris, the seed was planted. It would be years until that seed started to grow.

2020

Sterling Street Brewing was opening and gave away a good amount of home brewing ingredients to local home brewers. Given to one of Chris’s friends for a fateful homebrew session. These spent grains became the first batch of Brew Biscuits.

2021

January – Over a few beers with a buddy, Chris talked about a potential business idea. That buddy knew a brewery owner and the idea really started to brew….

2021

March – Chris’s buddy setup a meeting for him to pitch the idea of Brew Biscuits to the owner of Milk Room Brewing, the meeting went great and the first Brewery Partner was onboard!

2021

May – The first batch of Brew Biscuits was delivered to Milk Room Brewing on May 21st!!!!! Although Milk Room has since closed, this was an incredibly special delivery. 

2022

July – Brew Biscuits is already partnering with a dozen breweries, expands to add Distilleries by adding Whiskey Biscuits to the product portfolio. Our first Distillery partner is Short Path Distillery, their Whiskey Biscuits were a HIT!

2023

March – Six Pack Brewing became the first partner in Rhode Island! (unfortunately they closed at the end of 2024)

2023

June – Brewery partners have continued to grow in number and the second Distillery joined the Brew Biscuit Family. Pipe Dream Brewing came on board to be the first Brewery in New Hampshire to partner with Brew Biscuits (sadly they closed in February 2025)

2024

March – Spy Glass Brewing became the second partner in New Hampshire to add to an ever growing amount of Breweries in Massachusetts.

2025

February – Brew Biscuits partners with some of the biggest and smallest Breweries in Massachusetts. Current count is 17 Breweries and 3 Distilleries, with 1 Brewery Partner in New Hampshire.
